The Philippine television landscape has undergone a major shift as media giant GMA Network further cemented its dominance, widening its viewership lead in the first half of 2026.

According to the latest figures from the National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) covering January 1 to June 30, 2026, the Gozon-led broadcaster secured an overwhelming 45.8% audience share. The network's stronghold is further highlighted by the fact that 27 out of the 30 most-watched television programs during this six-month period were produced by the Kapuso Network.

TV5 Slides, GTV Closes In

While TV5 managed to retain the second spot overall, it experienced a noticeable drop in viewership. Its audience share declined sharply to 9.7%, down from 14.5% in 2025. Industry analysts point to the termination of TV5's partnership agreement with ABS-CBN on the first day of 2026 as a key driver behind the Kapatid Network's struggle to maintain its former audience levels.

Hot on TV5's heels is GMA Network's subsidiary channel, GTV, which closely trailed in third place with a 9.6% audience share for the first half of 2026.

AMBS ALLTV2 Surges, A2Z Holds Steady

In a reverse of fortune, Advanced Media Broadcasting System’s (AMBS) ALLTV2 experienced a massive ratings boost, climbing to a 6.7% audience share. This surge follows a strategic content partnership with ABS-CBN, which brought the Kapamilya Network's entire lineup to the Villar-owned station after a previous struggle to draw viewers.

Meanwhile, A2Z—the ABS-CBN-affiliated broadcast channel owned by Zoe Broadcasting Network—generated a stable 5.4% audience share.

Rounding out the Top 10 most-watched television channels are GMA’s digital offerings (I Heart Movies and Heart of Asia), ABS-CBN’s 24/7 pay-TV stations (Kapamilya Channel and CineMo), and TV5’s sister network (RPTV).
